A short biography of the artist:- The paintings of the old masters have no shortage of answers for those who are prepared to ask the right questions. That is what inspired zaza to pursue the work of art. This self-taught artist has been playing with the tjanting since childhood. Expression of nature and life are in fact fundamental to his concept of paintings. The series introduce the concept created at the time of his learning and travelling and therefore represents the characteristics and progressive development of his views towards life and nature. The source of ideas and inspirations mainly came from the fears, joys and sorrows of people and things surrounding him. The techniques that he uses for his paintings are a double process which means, after finishing his painting he then proceeds with the second layer of painting over the same picture. The techniques and colours that he uses are not descriptive but rather of his own creativity and imagination. Why he chose that style of painting is because it brought him an immense kind of relief and happiness that he can never express in words. At the end of it the joy of painting is what really matters.
